On February 4th, 2023, iAM was founded by leaders of Amhara organizations who shared a vision and passion for uniting the global Amhara community. Since then, individuals have come together, becoming our loyal members.

Ethiopian people's call for an urgent meeting.

Our Motivation

iAM was created due to a shared vision among various Amhara organizations worldwide. Each organization, motivated by a solid commitment to the social, economic, human rights, and security needs of the Amhara people, recognized the power of unity. iAM emerged as a response to the call for a centralized platform where these organizations could synchronize their efforts, thus amplifying their impact on a global level.

The desire to make a global impact drives the formation of iAM. Member organizations envision iAM as a platform that can unite the Amhara diaspora on a shared platform, creating a global voice that echoes the dreams and aspirations of the Amhara people.

Mission

iAM's mission is to build, fortify, coordinate, and support Amhara associations, fostering a collective mindset. We strive for a harmonious collaboration among associations and organizations, ensuring the protection of the rights and interests of the Amhara people.

Vision

iAM envisions establishing a political system that upholds the Amhara community's universal rights and absolute freedom toward the ultimate goal of forming a united and robust Amhara union.

Key Objectives of “iAM”

  • Our objective is to achieve our vision by addressing the diverse challenges the Amhara community faces. Our strategy involves strengthening existing unions, developing practical approaches that produce tangible results, encouraging unorganized groups to join our movement, and serving as a unified voice for all Amhara people. Our objective is to unite Amhara associations globally, whether at the national or local level.
  • We plan to use diplomatic and high-level mediation efforts to address the international community's oversight of the destructive campaign and atrocities against the Amhara people to reveal the true image of the Amhara community.
  • Our goal is to tackle the issues encountered by the Amhara community through non-violent advocacy and constructive transformation. We aspire to function as a collective voice for the Amhara people and work in close partnership with other ethnic groups who are also confronting difficulties due to their loyalty to their identity and the solidarity of Ethiopia. Our struggle is akin to theirs since we all confront an extremist government.
